By-Laws/Policies - Annual Meeting

I know you all have nothing going on at the moment;  however, I ran into Carolyn last night and she would like us to review the bylaws, as many projects are doing an overhaul right now. She was aware of the HH situation from last week, so I'm not sure if Denise told her or the mom reached out. She knows the meeting is next week, so she may suggest that we vote to extend the vote on accepting the bylaws for a couple of months unless we have something to propose on Wednesday (unless everything is okay).

I am meeting with her on Tuesday at 4:30 at the KCC, if anyone else would like to join. She is also planning on attending the meeting on Wednesday,

I know the bylaws are kind of just high-level direction, and our policies break it down more, so maybe both need to be reviewed.

A couple of specifics are:

  • date of annual meeting (it currently says 'typically held in August'). This is a crazy time, the week after fair, right before the two state shows. Maybe late September is better? We don't have our first official meeting until November so there will still be plenty of time to plan that.

  • Adult leadership terms/teams?

  • specifying that HH needs at least a couple of separate meetings from the horse meetings (maybe a policy?)

I've linked the pages on the website below if you can read when you get a minute. and see if you have any suggestions/changes. I think if I'm reading it correctly, policies can be reviewed by leadership and changed at any time (not necessarily during the annual meeting?)
