Tempel Lipizzan Farms (7/29)

Hi everyone! We still have spots open for our tour of Tempel Lipizzan Farms on Friday, July 29 at 10:00 am. This is a really cool opportunity to see classical riding up close. There are only a few places in the world where high school dressage movements and airs above the ground are trained and performed.

Located in Old Mill Creek, IL on the property of Tempel Farms, Tempel Lipizzans is a full time dressage training facility in which experienced trainers adhere to the standards of training established hundreds of years ago in the classical schools of Europe. As of 2015, the Spanish Riding School in Vienna Austria, after which our American program was modeled, has 450 years of elevating classical equitation and has been added to the list of UNESCO's "intangible cultural heritage of humanity." The foundation of the Tempel Lipizzans breeding program was directly from Piber, the stud farm of the Spanish Riding School.

Tempel Farms staff will provide a guided tour of the facility, history, and horses, and we will be able to watch trainers in action. This tour costs $15 for children and $25 for adults. 4-h will pay for 1/2 of the ticket for children. Therefore, we will need to collect $7.50 for children and $25 for adults on the day of the tour.

To reserve a spot, please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D49A9AD2CA5F49-tempel Adults and children are welcome; we will need at least 3 adults to chaperone the tour.
