We Have 12 Kids Ready for Horse Time… Can You Help?

As you may be aware, our project includes a number of Horseless Horse kiddos this year. We’re reaching out to see if you might be willing to take one or two (sometimes siblings) under your wing and help them learn about horses through your experience—and your wonderful equine partner.
Right now, we have 12 members hoping to be matched with a buddy. That’s a great opportunity for our group to come together and support them. 4-H is all about helping one another learn and grow, and this is such a meaningful way to share your knowledge with kids who are truly chomping at the bit to spend time with horses.
As we continue to grow, we’re also working to build out a Mane Mentor approach within our project. This simply means having experienced members serve as a point of contact and a guide—helping newer members navigate the project, gain confidence, and learn along the way.
In many ways, these roles go hand-in-hand: sharing your horse knowledge, offering guidance, and giving these members a chance to learn in a hands-on way.
With clear communication and expectations set up front, this can be a really positive experience for everyone involved. Most importantly, it helps ensure these eager future equestrians have the opportunity to learn, grow, and feel part of the project.
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, let me know—I’d love to get you connected.
Warmly,
JoDee
Horseless Horse Coordinator
